1. When and where does the Bled Chess Festival take place? ⌄
The Bled Chess Festival will take place from 8–14 March 2027 at the Congress Centre of Rikli Balance Hotel in Bled, Slovenia. The playing venue and the official festival hotels are located close to Lake Bled and the town centre.
2. Can I come to the festival on my own? ⌄
Absolutely. The Bled Chess Festival is also designed for individual players. During the festival, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet other participants through tournaments, shared activities, evening gatherings and experiences around Bled.
3. Can I bring a companion who does not play chess? ⌄
Yes. Partners, friends and family members who do not play chess are very welcome. While you are playing, they can explore Bled, enjoy the side programme, excursions, culinary experiences and wellness activities.
4. How do I get to Bled if I am travelling by plane? ⌄
Bled is relatively close to several international airports, including Ljubljana, Venice, Zagreb and Trieste. Depending on your arrival airport, you can continue to Bled by shuttle, private transfer, rental car or public transport.

The main tournament is open to chess players of different ages and playing levels who meet the festival’s participation conditions, including the relevant FIDE rating requirement.
6. Is the tournament suitable for beginners or less experienced players? ⌄
Yes. The main tournament is suitable for chess players of different ages and playing levels who meet the required FIDE rating condition.
7. Will there be live broadcast of the games? ⌄
Yes. Games from the main tournament will be available to follow live online through the festival website and partner platforms.
8. Will there be events besides the main tournament? ⌄
Yes. The festival programme includes side tournaments, evenings with Grandmasters, a simultaneous exhibition, seminars and additional festival experiences throughout the week.

9. How do I register and what is the entry fee? ⌄
Registration is completed through the online booking form on our website. Choose the festival package that best suits your plans and follow the registration and payment steps.
10. Are side events and activities included in the festival price? ⌄
It depends on the festival package you choose. Different packages include different combinations of side tournaments, special chess events, accommodation and additional experiences.
